RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) is a common virus causing respiratory illnesses ranging from mild to severe and life-threatening.
Vaccination is recommended for anyone at higher risk of hospitalisation or severe disease.
From 15th May 2026, Arexvy RSV vaccine will be free for anyone aged 75 and over, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 60 and over.
Free Arexvy vaccines will be available from all immunisation providers, including your GP.
RSV vaccine can be given at the same time as other vaccines e.g. influenza, COVID-19, shingles or pneumococcal, or at a different time.
Speak to your doctor about whether RSV protection is recommended for you or your family.
